Every other baby formula in the world is made from heavily processed milk powders, which means the milk has already been heavily heat-treated before the formula-making process even begins. At LittleOak, we do things differently. We start with fresh whole goat milk and gently spray-dry it only once to preserve its natural goodness. No pre-dried powders. No over–processing. Just one simple heat to retain all the nutrients nature intended. Our world-first and award-winning From Fresh process uses fresh whole goat milk straight from grass-fed goats at our New Zealand farm. Milked daily in small batches, our herd lives in the rolling hills of Palmerston North, New Zealand, where we proudly uphold organic practices every step of the way.
We love our goats and care about their health and wellbeing—after all, they are part of our family too. This is why we have fewer goats per hectare, ensuring they have plenty of room to roam. Happy goats. Fresh milk. Just as nature intended.
Closer to breast milk
Goat milk is closer to human breast milk than cow milk because of its easy-to-digest A2 protein and naturally occurring prebiotics. It is naturally rich in over a dozen of the same gut-loving prebiotic fibres (oligosaccharides) found in breast milk, which helps to nurture a gut microbiome similar to breastfed babies. Goat milk also encourages the growth of beneficial gut bacteria—much in the same way as breast milk. Unlike cow milk, its anti-inflammatory and prebiotic benefits may help lower the risk of eczema, digestive troubles and other immune issues—giving your child the very best start in life.

Many goat milk formulas start with pre-dried skim milk, which means the milk has already been heavily heat-treated and stripped of its beautiful, natural fats before the formula-making process even begins. Manufacturers then replace these natural fats with inflammatory seed oils because it’s cheaper and easier to do.
Here’s how it works: fresh milk is spray-dried—a process that uses extreme heat to remove all the water—before being turned into powder that often sits in storage for years before manufacturers buy it. They then reconstitute it with water, mix in oils and other ingredients, and spray-dry it all over again to create what’s called “base powder.”
