At LittleOak, our mission goes beyond nourishing children and extends to the world we all inhabit. When crafting our products, we pay equal attention to the environment, making sure that we do our part to protect Mother Earth. After all, we believe she is our greatest provider.
We take our environmental responsibility seriously. In fact, we have a very real ambition to become the world's first baby formula brand to be certified carbon neutral. And while we are not quite there yet, we are making great strides and finding new ways to cut our carbon footprint in every capacity. We want our children to climb trees; to swim in the ocean; to play in the grass. We want our kids to grow up in a world that protects and cherishes nature, always. Why we are 100% palm oil free?
It’s in your shampoo, your make-up, your margarine, your washing power...palm oil is everywhere. But what is it? Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil made from the fruit of oil palm trees, and its demand has boomed since the Industrial Revolution. Simply put, the world is hooked.
While palm oil is a common ingredient in traditional baby formulas on the market, these monoculture plantations are causing significant harm to our planet. Bio-diverse tropical forests are cleared to make room for palm plantations, destroying the ecosystem and habitats of some of our most endangered species—namely rhinos, tigers, and elephants. By destroying the habitats of these wonderful animals, palm oil production also creates water pollution, soil erosion, and water contamination.
Sadly, many formula brands still use palm oil in their products as it is the cheapest vegetable oil to produce and refine. But here at LittleOak, we do things differently. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t cut costs. We are the world's first formula to be certified 100% palm oil free by the internally recognised POFCAP.

Are LittleOak’s ingredients sustainably sourced?
All the ingredients used in our LittleOak products are as sustainably sourced as possible. You’ve heard us talk about our cold-pressed flaxseed oil, but did you know we source it straight from New Zealand’s South Island? Good ingredients, good processes every time.
Better yet, our "less-is-more" From Fresh processing approach allows us to not only preserve the nutritional quality of our baby and toddler milks, but it also keeps our carbon footprint smaller by conserving water and energy.
